“¿Y cómo afecta la biodiversidad al cambio climático?

En la biosfera terrestre hay casi tanto carbono como en la atmósfera, unas 750 gigatoneladas, pero en los océanos hay 28.100 gigatoneladas. La gestión de los flujos de carbono entre lo que está vivo y lo que está muerto y los stocks de carbono se hacen con los ciclos biológicos. Un cambio, una alteración de esos ciclos puede movilizar cantidades ingentes de carbono a la atmósfera y eso podría desequilibrar por completo el clima mundial mucho más de lo que los modelos prevén.”
