Position available: PhD candidate in Environmental History of Natural Areas in Spain

Candidate Profile:

  • Educational Background: Candidates should have relevant Bachelor- or Masters-level degree in the fields of history, journalism, biology, forestry, environmental sciences, or related disciplines.
  • Technical Proficiency: Excellent writing and communications skills, experience for searching out and extracting evidence from archival records.
  • Teamwork and Communication: Flexibility to travel within Spain, and to liaising with environmental researchers, librarians and, critically, people working in (regional and national) government and natural protected areas.
  • Language Proficiency: Excellent writing skills and fluency in Spanish are mandatory. English language skills are an additional asset.

What We Offer:

  • Duration and Scholarship: Initially, a 3-year position with a salary commensurate with experience, ranging from €26,000 (with bachelor’s degree) to approximately €31,000 (with master’s degree). This is exclusive of an additional 31.4% for social security.
