Title of Position: Researcher in Biodiversity Informatics

 Candidate Profile:

  • Educational and Research Expertise: Candidates should possess relevant PhD-level expertise in the fields of computer and data science, database management and modelling, with application to ecology and/or environmental sciences.
  • Technical Proficiency: Advanced skills in R (and/or Matlab or Julia) and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) are required.
  • Teamwork and Communication: The role demands the ability to work collaboratively in teams, effectively share ideas, and engage in national and international networking .
  • Language Proficiency: Excellent writing skills and fluency in English are mandatory. Spanish language skills are an asset but not a requirement.

What We Offer:

  • Contract Duration and Salary: Initially, a 3-year contract with a salary commensurate with experience, ranging from €40,000 (starting level) to approximately €50,000 (advanced level). This is exclusive of an additional 33.6% for social security. Pending on mutual agreement, the position may be extended in time.
  • Supervision and Collaboration: Supervised by Research Professor Miguel B. Araújo.
  • Research Environment: Opportunity to join a dynamic and international team of highly motivated researchers at National Museum of Natural Sciences (part of the CSIC) in Madrid.
