Miguel Bastos Araújo participated in the 3rd BES-SIM 2 In-Person Meeting on Modelling, held from 22 to 25 June 2026 at the German Centre for Integrative Biodiversity Research (iDiv) in Leipzig.
The meeting brought together researchers working on biodiversity and ecosystem services models to advance the harmonisation of model outputs, review progress across modelling approaches, and discuss future synthesis papers and collaborative outputs. The programme covered projections of human pressures on land and sea, advances in global biodiversity models, and the development of comparable outputs for policy-relevant assessments.
Araújo contributed to the plenary session on 24 June with a presentation entitled “Trophic Community Models”, linking ongoing work on community trophic structure to broader efforts to improve biodiversity modelling and scenario analysis.
