Description: BIOFUTURES aims to improve how we predict biodiversity change by linking models of individual species with models of whole ecological communities. Rather than relying only on species distribution models, the project combines species occurrences, traits, trophic roles, and environmental data to understand not just which species may persist or disappear, but also how community structure, trophic organisation, and energy flows may be reorganised under environmental change. By integrating species-level and community-level perspectives, BIOFUTURES will help develop more robust indicators of biodiversity risk, resilience, and ecological transformation, with relevance for both fundamental research and conservation planning.
